Escape Game Origin Story:

As a kid I always spent time either doing jigsaw puzzles or logic games so escape games really interested me when I first learned of them. I’ve also been fascinated with computers and video games. Escape Rooms are like a video game come to life for me.

On Chris’ suggestion, we went to check out promotional tour stop of a new game by Escape The Room set up temporarily inside Universal Studios Florida. This national traveling attraction was to advertise a new USA Network television show, Dig, which I had been watching, so was interested.  Naturally this led to more and more, and I’ve enjoyed seeing how the games have gotten better and more technologically advanced.

More About Me:

I grew up in central West Virginia in a small town, so there wasn’t much to do. I spent a lot of time reading or playing games. I always had breathing issues, so couldn’t really do much as far as sports outside. Even so, I always enjoyed our family trips. We lived between Cedar Point in Ohio, or Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens in Virginia, so we would go to one of them every summer.

Eventually I got a job travelling and expanded my amusement park experiences. When that job ended, I eventually decided it was time to move out of West Virginia to somewhere with more to do. I thought about California as I really liked it out there, but with my work, that would have been difficult, so Orlando was the obvious choice. With Disney and Universal, it satisfied my amusement park cravings. I’ve been here twenty years and don’t regret that decision. There are also quite a few escape room venues all over central Florida so there is never a moment I don’t have something fun to enjoy in my free time.
