Get into your rivals locker room, steal back your playbook and win the championship. No sweat.

EHR High School has had a great football season. We are undefeated so far on the road to the championship. We play you guys, the Rival High School Escapers, for the championship and are looking forward to the challenge. However, our mascot didn’t want to play fair. He stole the Rival HS playbook. We don’t think that is right and don’t want to win that way. So, we are going to let you into our locker room. We believe that she has hidden the playbook somewhere in there. You need to find your playbook and get out! Our mascot is a shifty girl. I’m sure it won’t be as simple as getting in and finding it just laying around. You’ll certainly have to figure out some things to find it. Here is the catch. You only have one hour to find it while the team is out practicing. If they catch you in our locker room, they will think you broke in to steal our playbook.

Our football team is in the championship game but the rival schools mascot went rogue and stole our playbook. Luckily, the other school’s players believe in playing fair and are giving us a chance to go through their locker room while they practice to search for the missing playbook.  Of course that dastardly mascot wouldn’t just leave it lying about though. If we don’t find it and get out before practice is over, we’ll look like the cheaters!

Being set in a high school locker room means that the setting will be less about flash and more about feeling immersed and realistic.  This isn’t just a space that conveys locker room, it truly creates the sense that football fans are actually in one. There’s a row of lockers along the wall, a shower and even a bathroom complete with a toilet, sink and a working hand dryer (hows that for attention to detail).

On the other side of the area is a small mini golf set up which feels a bit out of place but ends up being part of a really fun and unique puzzle.

It turns out that the other teams mascot is rather crafty and has even found a way to make a hidden passage going from the locker room to the principals office. Escape Hour Room has done a terrific job of creating an immersive space taking us right back to our high school days.

Escape Hour Room does a great job of keeping all the puzzles on theme throughout the room.  There are a few tasks that might be commonly found among other escape games but by giving them a little polish and re-theming they become fresh and fit right at home in the story world.

Remember that hand dryer that was a nice attention to detail? Well it’s involved in a very unique and stand out puzzle that will make any player smile. The mini golf puzzle is another uncommon and fun task that high schoolers will be fighting over to do (or preferably take turns but who am I to tell you how to have fun in an escape game).

The game has a great flow so football fans will seamlessly move from one task to the next throughout the whole game. Even though most of the puzzles were a blast, there was one time sink puzzle that was out of place and dragged the overall flow down a bit.  It was a small blemish on an otherwise fun filled adventure.

Escape Hour Room is a venue on the rise that has a great staff and really understands how to make a fun escape game.  We really look forward to see what future offerings they can come up with. Unsportsmanlike Conduct is filled with fun and cleverly themed puzzles.

From start to finish, it’s a blast to play and has more than enough to keep bigger groups busy thanks to it’s non-linear game play. This is one adventure worth going on even if it puts your schools reputation on the line.
