The World's #1 Escape Game Social Hub!

Review: The Residents

RATING: 5 Keys          RESULT: Win          REMAINING: 6:38

A truly rare mix of immersive story-telling and Hollywood-quality scenic make Codescape home to some of the most beautiful and compelling escape rooms in the United States!

With all of their games, Codescape puts story first. The Residents artfully crafts a ghost story centered around a house at the end of Winding Hollow Road, which dates back to 1881. Despite its longstanding presence, the home has rarely been occupied.

Families would move in, and quickly be driven away – ultimately landing five past residents into a nearby psychiatric institution, all curiously alluding to the old home’s attic as the sole source of their derangement.

You’ve been sent to investigate the ominous Winding Hollow Estate, and it’s up to you to discover what’s lurking within the shadows.

Very few escape room venues pull off scenic to the level of Codescape. The Residents is a testament of chilling beauty – creating a sinister yet mysterious supernatural world that needs to be seen to be believed.

A perfect blend of movie-quality sets, dramatic lighting and a custom-scored soundtrack make The Residents one of the most cinematic escape room experiences you’ll ever find.

With story that strong and scenic that good, Codescape already stands on its own when compared to any other venue – but that’s not where my praises for them end. Codescape really does make a grand slam across all categories by incorporating  puzzles that are not only logical and intuitive, but that also fit comfortably into the story world and even in some cases, enhance it.

These guys truly get it right by keeping everything period and theme appropriate to deliver one of the most complete escape room experiences you’ll find.

Codescape is without a doubt among the “Best of the best” when discussing escape rooms. They understand that story is key. They recognize that story can only thrive if the scenic environment supports it. They clearly know that puzzles need to make sense and fit within the total package.

When thinking of a wish list of everything I want to find in an escape room, Codescape is one of very, very few venues that check all boxes – and as such get some of my highest praises and most solid recommendations!
