The Professor is missing, and with him the secret of his latest ground-breaking scientific discovery. There’s clearly on only one solution we can offer to help: escaping his laboratory in under 60 minutes. Wait, what?
Our team of top detectives have been called upon to investigate the mysterious disappearance of Professor White, one of the world’s leading scientists. Rumor has it he was working on a highly confidential government project at the time of his disappearance. Uncover his whereabouts, and remember – time is of the essence!
The story is light. At it’s core, this is a laboratory game – but thankfully there’s no zombies or life threatening virus for once! The action here centers around valuable scientific discoveries made by Professor White, though ultimately ends with an exit code rather than physically finding his research.
As with nearly any laboratory game we’ve seen, expect the scenic to be on the lighter side here. Walls as white as the professor’s name surround the rooms, with a few cabinets and desks to fill in the space.
Beakers and test tubes add to the flavor, while several computers add a technical flare.
In short, though the scenic may not be entirely noteworthy, it certainly hits the mark of creating a believable work space for Professor White to thrive within his storyworld.
Professor White, as a game, sits somewhere on the easier side of the spectrum – but that’s not at all a bad thing. There’s huge value to having varying degrees of difficulty in your offerings.
We greatly enjoyed most of the puzzles in this game. They were logical and intuitive – while heavily connected within the scientific storyworld.
We were pleased to find several cool tech-based puzzles seamlessly mixed in to really give this game its own unique identity. Their inclusion really is a must given the subject matter of Professor White’s storyworld, which, in turn is brought more closely to life because of it.
Professor White is a good game for beginners while still remaining an enjoyable way to spend a little time for experienced players. It finds a happy balance between puzzles that won’t intimidate a newbie, while at the same time keep the attention of a veteran.
Eskape Rooms will never be the most elaborate venue we review, but we enjoyed our visit just the same. They’re a good middle-ground venue in the Orange County market that is still worth a visit. The staff at the venue is incredibly enthusiastic, very hands on and extremely eager to hear feedback from all of their guests. Things like that are key to success, and show they will always strive to continue to grow and improve.
