After its smash hit limited run on the West Coast, Chris +‘s innovative customizable, replayable Create Your Own Adventure Game concept, Professor Bleehall’s Odditorium Emporium & Pie Shoppe will be debuting soon in its new permanent home in New York City! Brooklyn Escape Room will play host to the Oddest shopping spree ever held as the headlining attraction of their brand new second location in the trendy Industry City complex! But this isn’t just your grandmother’s OddPie (which seems like something the kids might say these days.) Before we talk about what’s new, let’s talk about what’s always made this game concept so unique, beginning, of course, with its story:
Hubert’s back! (Sorry.) What would a shopping spree through Professor Bleehall’s Odditorium Emporium & Pie Shoppe be without its host?! Hubert is a plant. He’s also the shopkeep, an uninvited commentator, comic relief, the hint system, official time keeper and corrupt. Oh, and he’s kind of a jerk. Hubert’s also been known to have multiple personalities, so no two visits will ever be quite the same!
Contestants now have the ability to Create Your Own Game Play Mode! Sharing Spree is the most traditional option, where all contestants work together as a team, collectively sharing all points earned. However, for the more rambunctious among us, Screwjob Spree transforms the experience into a cutthroat head to head competition mode. Contestants can opt to play ‘every man for himself’ or team versus team as they try to quite literally steal points from their opponents without getting caught!
Earning fake money has never been more fun (or pointless.) Along with the classic bonus puzzles, contestants now may be sent on a whole host of new fool’s errands to earn Hubert’s affection (and money), including inflating his ego, helping him find love, taking inventory of the shop and having fun at a funeral. And best of all, it’s “not a pyramid scheme.*”
The Shoppe has been restocked with crates full of new junk nobody wants, adding 17 brand new puzzles not previously included in any version of OddPie! We’ve got something for everyone (assuming your standards are impossibly low) including vampires, trolls, dinosaurs, highly toxic fossil fuels, clowns, aliens, leprechauns, unicorns, and the most majestic being in existence, The Superb Owl! But above all else, this is a family show – so we’re overjoyed to announce the arrival of Hubert’s baby son, Cornelius! And what kind of NYC debut would this be without a visit from the iconic Pizza Rat himself! It’s all here, it’s all over-priced, and it’s all stupid!
Returning contestants who had the opportunity to participate in our West Coast shopping spree will be happy to learn that each of the original puzzles included in NYC are marked with the same Forbidden Object numbers – so your Customer Loyalty Cards will carry over to this location, ensuring your experience remains completely unique!
